New Agreement between the Consumer Ombudsman and the Danish FSA

Effective from 1 May 2013, the Danish Marketing Practices Act and the Danish Financial Business Act are changed with the result that the Danish Consumer Ombudsman received additional powers as regards financial businesses. In continuation thereof, the Consumer Ombudsman and the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority 2 September 2013 concluded a cooperative agreement (in Danish) outlining the framework for their mutual cooperation in this area. In this newsletter, we focus on the amendment, the cooperative agreement as well as the practical implications which the changes will entail for financial businesses.
