Dear business associate

With the holiday season soon upon us and 2016 coming to a close, we can look back at what has once again been a successful year for our firm. Thanks to our clients and business partners, we have had the pleasure of taking part in several major and highly demanding legal assignments. Our lawyers have again had the pleasure of working alongside some of the finest legal practitioners across the globe, on assignments in New York, Palo Alto, London, Torino, Oslo, Warsaw, Tel Aviv, Sydney and Shanghai to name only a few. Operating on an international platform has allowed us to develop and improve our services to our clients.

Outside the realm of legal assignments, the year 2016 has indeed brought upon us interesting and challenging times. As the now late Nobel laureate Elie Wiesel said before he passed away in July 2016: “The winds of hate are again blowing”. We all need to take democracy seriously and we all need to actively engage in making our democracies better and stronger for all our citizens. We all have a profound feeling that now is the time to engage in reflection and actively participate in the struggle to preserve our fundamental freedom rights that our ancestors have fought so hard for. Now is not the time for indifference.

Consideration for others makes all the difference. We have therefore again this year decided to donate an amount to Børnenes Kontor (www.boernenes-kontor.dk) which supports Danish children from indigent families. We have also decided to continue our support for Justitia (www.justitia-int.org/en/), Denmark’s first judicial think tank. Justitia aims to promote the rule of law and fundamental human rights and freedom rights, both within Denmark and abroad, by educating and influencing policy experts, decision-makers, and the public.
